| ABOUT: Clanopotomus started as a tight-knit clan with Turdopotomus, several close friends and many appreciative multis. Soon many other people showed interest in joining. Clanopotomus was much smaller at the time, and had no joining qualifications, but soon it grew until virtually all of /normal’s profiles led to Clanopotomus. Many DJs, mods and celebrities were in on the fun. As Clanopotomus grew, it got merrier and happier, until a fallout of sorts resulted in the loss of almost half of its members. The beginning of Clanopotomus’ troubles began when Turdopotomus had to move. She was without internet access for months. This made a few members bored with the clan; after all, Turdo brought them there in the first place. Clano lost many older members then. Before she had to move, Turdo wanted to crack down on all the multis and make various new policies. After she left, Meggery was put in charge, and started where Turdo left off on the multi policies. Many people didn’t approve of these policies, and unfortunately for Meggery, she was blamed for it. In all the confusion and acrimony, Meggery got extremely angry and left. This led to a snowball effect; soon, all of the active DJs left, most of the mods, and many other notables. After Clano’s huge loss, the members tried their best to rebuild it. During this era, some people left, but many big things took place. A new leader, Flabberjack, was elected. A forum was built; Pantsopotomus, a mass giveaway of in-game hippo items, was planned in April 2005, although it was shelved after fears it would be overshadowed by Noblesse Oblige's Week of Drunken Loving and Aflubadubdub's Cinco De Martino. Pantsopotomus was eventually run as a smaller-scale project. After a long time of general good feelings within the clan, Turdo decided that there were still still traces of the old, bad times. She decided to start anew. Shortly before Ascension was implemented, she emptied the clan and made a new list of policies, so the clan could once again start over the way it once was - a clan of friends and trusting people. Many were infuriated at being demeaned in such a way and left the clan, some of whom were huge contributors. Almost half of the remaining members departed to a clan named “A Futurama Fan Is Us!", formed by Benderama as a measure to keep the clan together while things were being sorted out. In time, many of them have returned. | MAJOR MEMBERS: *Turdopotomus (#107673) - Leader of Clanopotomus. Turdo is also a Radio KoL Co-Host and a well-known chat regular. *Flabberjack (#44443) - Temporary leader during a time of need, and by far the biggest donator to the clan. Also a noted powergamer. *Arkohn (#114066) - Noted forum poster and author of this History. *Benderama (#201729) - Creator of the clan ‘A Futurama Fan Is You’ that many Clanopotomus members left for. Later member of Jicken Wings. He is a noted forum poster under the alias Bender (#308716). *Flowered Angel (#311607) - clan stash manager and forums host. *xxArmageddonxx (#74435) - clan booze supplier and chat regular. *GAH (#11080) - Formerly a noted powergamer. *Meggery (#70719) - Radio KOL Co-Host and chat regular. Meggery was co-leader of the clan for a time. *YellowSnowCone (#314885) - chat regular. *Lotsofgoats (#109434) - Noted forum poster, particularly during the Hell Ramen era. Also possessed of a fantastically appropriate avatar. *Feared Al Yankovic (#61792) - Radio KOL DJ. *kcfin (#186994) - architect of the Pantsopotomus project. *VikingGoddess (#269124) - chat regular. *Linkage (#15697) - longtime and loyal member. *AlBassoon (#206500) - Radio KoL DJ; later member of The Loading Dock. AlBassoon was nearly modded in May of 2005, and modded in full force shortly thereafter. *Adah (#288632) - Radio KoL DJ. *Dier_cire (#212290) - powergamer and Radio KoL celebrity, though he was not a DJ. Dier_Cire recorded all of the Train Wreck broadcasts of Amplitude (#145816) and c00c00c00 (see Mahi). *KolMohDee (#140988) - Radio KOL DJ. |
