ABOUT:
Minus Tirith's earliest known leader (and possible founder) was Nari, in the early months of 2004. Some time later (May?), Nari handed the leadership position to Birdy, who served only a short stint as head of the clan before leaving it in the custody of Celfious. In time, Birdy would come into his own fame as a member of Minus Tirith's archnemeses, but few would have predicted such a bizarre coincidence, at the time.

The weeks preceding Black Sunday were truly portentous times. It was during these weeks that, starting from its humble origins, Celfious rapidly built Minus Tirith into one of the Kingdom's most recognizable clan war powerhouses. Despite some success in warfare, however, Celfious found his clan routed time and again, by 1337 sn4x0rs, Alliance From Hell, and, most famously, *****Warclan*****. Celfious dedicated himself to breaking what he saw as a cabal of bugmeat-fueled, iron-fisted titans. To this effect, he launched ceaseless attacks and counterattacks on the most powerful clans, and publicly aired his grievances repeatedly in the forums. Celfious claims to have sued for peace between Minus Tirith and Warclan, but the members of Warclan saw it as "begging for an alliance", and millions of archers and cinder blocks were consumed in the confusion.

In one of the most heavily replied forum threads of its time, Celfious explains that he had become fed up with the reality that his niche of the game, clan warfare, had been essentially ruined by the heavy hands of the bugmeat-rich, such as BoozerBear (the principal funder of Warclan), Pimonkey, and Nietzsche (leaders of the double-barreled clan warfare assault team known as the 1337 clans). Many of his critics essentially told him to quit whining over his losses; others argued that clan warfare was functioning properly as a meatsink. Celfious answered them by saying, "I'm not complaining because someone's rich. I'm complaining about what they do with their bugmeat to fuck up game play for others...bugmeat in the wrong hands kills the motive of gameplay." Those were wiser words than most knew, as Black Sunday was less than a week away.

In response to Warclan's unshakable dominance in clan warfare, and to the growing tide of anti-Warclan sentiment among lesser clans, Celfious announced on 8/2/04 that he was organizing a vast anti-Warclan alliance, hoping to take them down with sheer force of numbers, if not meat alone. This tactic was no more successful in breaking Warclan's massive defenses. And so, the two clans sat, swords drawn, faces grimacing, on the eve of Black Sunday.

The chaos that Black Sunday unleashed upon clan warfare will be described in greater detail in the Warclan entry; Minus Tirith, paradoxically, became one of the clans who benefited the most from the bugmeat. When Celfious found another coding hole that Jick had yet to patch up, and Jick didn't immediately recognize that it still needed closing, Celfious made an example of it by creating some 600 billion Meat and dumping it wholesale into his war room.

The reader may hazard a guess as to the first thing Celfious did with his newfound loot. But it was a tarnished victory; in the wake of Black Sunday, Warclan had already been taken down, and its leaders forswore further clan war. Celfious then turned his attention to the sn4x0rs, and in late August declared "all out war" on them, claiming that theitsybitsyspider, now a sn4x0r, had used a multi as to spy on Minus Tirith. (This was not quite true; itsy had actually hired co-conspirator Gnilrets2 (see Goddess's Knights; see also Warclan) to infiltrate the clan using Gnilrets2's multi, bonghole (#138833)). Celfious booted nearly every member of Minus Tirith he didn't know personally, which included the latterly famous Wicana (subsequently readmitted) and MoxiousMouse, as well as multis of Quato and DaPunisher. Frustrated at his inability to secure peace, Celfious renewed his alliances with then-lower status clans such as Crazen Markay's Madmen, and burned through billions trying to take the post-bugmeat war machines down, with some success. The introduction of oatmeal as an army upkeep requirement did nothing to placate his fears, although it did temporarily improve Minus Tirith's place in the field.

George Harrison once reminded us that all things must pass; as it is in life, so it is in KoL. A few weeks after Black Sunday, Minus Tirith's coffers were already close to drained, and Celfious withdrew from clan warfare, leaving Crazen Markay's Madmen at the top of the heap. When he stopped playing regularly, Minus Tirith faded with him, and existed for several months as a shell under the care of Arte. In March 2005, Celfious returned to the clan's helm.

MAJOR MEMBERS:
*Nari (playerid unknown) - former leader; believed to be the founder of the clan. Nari's reign is shrouded in mystery.
*Celfious (#118760) - Leader of the clan, and maker of its fame. Celfious's history is very much the clan's history; he was very single-minded of purpose. He was obviously disenchanted with how things worked out after Black Sunday, and eventually (some time in October 2004) began to pull away from the game.
*Reznor (#124522) - Celfious's multi. Reznor was the top donator to the Council's War Fund.
*xZanu (#46061) - Former member; frequent forum poster. Shortly after the madness began on Black Sunday, xZanu poured billions upon billions into a massive clan army and goodie bags in a newly created clan. He deleted the clan without actually having attacked anyone, but not before millions of its goodie bags were taken off of it by warhawks. XZanu is now the leader of his own, all Turtle Tamer clan, the Clan Of The Elder Tortoises, and was one of the first players to receive a custom avatar when Mr. Store opened.
*Birdy (#37689) - former leader. See Warclan.
*Wicana (#121705) - former member; subsequently known as a /trade buffer and member of the Turtle Tamer Tag Team.
*MoxiousMouse (#65627) - former member. Currently a member of Noblesse Oblige.
*kucolan (#120400) - former member. See Alliance From Hell.
*G_God (#133777) - see Alliance From Hell.
*wza (#138896) - well-known forum poster. Later in Alliance From Hell and Aflubadubdub!.
*Sharpie2pen (#136850) - Famous multi of Sealh8r. Formerly a PvP badass; later a leader of Absolute Adherence. See also Warehouse23.
*Arte (#146891) - Appointed leader after Celfious; interim head of the mostly inactive clan. Arte is also known as Burningarrow (#187281).
*Charr (#89918) - Former member. See Philanthropists.
*Music Man (#115292) - Music Man became a minor celebrity in Summer 2004 when he spammed the forums with a number of new threads that were irrelevant and/or unintelligible. He was more or less flamed out of the game. His older brother is Spooner (see Aflubadubdub!).
