| ABOUT: Monkeys of Basingstoke City was one of the oldest clans ever formed in KoL. It was founded after CGC, but before Tricky Tricky and Sparkle Motion, in February, 2003. The players Cheesemonkey and killthesnowmen, bored with looking up dirty words in their Norwegian-English dictionary during class, turned to the Internet and found KoL; soon enough they formed MobC and began recruiting, mostly people who went to their school (a host of legends, including much of the original Tricky Tricky crew). In April-May of 2003, MobC had over 20 members, making it one of the most popular clans in the game, and one of the most powerful. Tricky Tricky and MobC decided to stage a "war" against each other, presumably involving mass PvP battles and clan lootings; MobC got totaled in this skirmish, which lasted at least two weeks. Once a truce was called, TT and MobC joined forces to oppose the Cool Guy Crew. MobC and Tricky Tricky were long allies, although (as was inevitable at this early stage in the game), players would frequently loot what they could and defect, and come back again just as fast. At some point, Cheesemonkey attempted to split MobC into A and B clans, but the endeavor failed, and many players ended up defecting. As MobC faded, Tricky Tricky absorbed most of its notable members, with CGC taking a few along the way. Haz (see Tricky Tricky) and his half-brother, blackfox (#661), found a bug on June 1, 2003 that allowed them to loot MobC's entire stash. While he was at it, Haz (then a member of Tricky Tricky) looted CGC using the same method. On July 9, 2003, Cheesemonkey and Killthesnowmen announced MobC's return. They continued through at least October of 2003, but the clan had definitely been disbanded by March of 2004. A clan called "darkplace" has been their on-again, off-again home since early 2004. | MAJOR MEMBERS: *Cheesemonkey (#436/#2010) - co-founder and co-leader. The account still exists; adam was spotted hawking things in channel /trade early in 2005. *Spikey (#679/2077) - see Tricky Tricky. Spikey was a schoolmate of Cheesemonkey and killthesnowmen. *The_player (playerid unknown) - A well-known early gamer and forum poster (his original ID# was probably below 500), The Player was friends with the Tricky Tricky crew and often took their side on things (including spamming the Ring of Flame). In his early days, he was the leader of the clans NSB and kol 4 ever. The Player deleted his character on September 19, 2003, and continued under the name Mark_bat. *Mark_bat (#741) - The Player's new account.
